Cryolipolysis is the most popular method currently in the US to combat local fat, and its use has increased tenfold in the last two years.

In a recent study announced by the American Society of Plastic Surgery, it is reported that with proper patient selection and correct implementation and follow up sessions, the results may be comparable to those of invasive liposuction. The method is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (F.D.A.)

It is a bloodless, painless pioneering technology in which adipocytes (fat cells) found in the subcutaneous tissue and accumulated at specific points of the body, are selectively cooled and destroyed.

Each treated area usually needs 2-3 sessions and the procedure lasts about 60 minutes. Dead adipocytes are then excreted through the natural metabolic process and the method is ideal for areas such as the abdomen and the buttocks.
