TATTOO REMOVAL

TATTOO REMOVAL (SUPERBIUM Q-SWITCHED LASER)

Because the colors of the tattoo extend deep into the skin, their removal by older methods (dermabrasion, chemical removal, etc.) often leads to the creation of permanent scars. Today the new generation of lasers is non-traumatic offering better aesthetic results.

HOW THE TREATMENT IS DONE :

The laser targets the exogenous pigment (different colors) without damaging the skin, a process that significantly reduces the creation of side effects. The BIOS Superbium laser belongs to the category of Q-Switched Lasers and has multiple wavelengths suitable for different colors.

Before the treatment, an anesthetic cream  is applied for 30′- 45 ‘which ensures a comfortable and completely tolerable procedure.

On average, each laser session lasts 10 ‘- 30’. The number of sessions required is individualized and depends on several factors (Kirby-Desai 6-point scale):

Phototype

Anatomical position

Quantity of pigment

Tattoo Depth

Scarring or skin lesions

Tattoo color

After the treatment, whitening of the area is observed, which develops in the following days into a mild or intense erythema. It is recommended to use an antibiotic cream so as not to risk infection of the skin and a gauze or bandage is applied on the treated area.

Then a rejuvenation cream is recommended as well as increased water consumption to increase the lymphatic drainage, important for the cleansing of the tattoo pigments.

The healing time of the skin varies and depends on how deep the tattoo is and the correct application of the instructions after the treatment. The area should not be exposed to sunlight because this activates skin’s melanin which absorbs part of the laser beam and makes it difficult to remove the tattoo.

The Laser is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
